Lección: Comparativos y Superlativos en inglés

Comparativos y Superlativos

1. Comparativos (Comparatives)

Se usan para comparar dos elementos. Estructura: Adjetivo + than.

Regla General:
• Adjetivos cortos (1 sílaba): Añadimos -er. (Fast → Faster)
• Adjetivos largos (2+ sílabas): Añadimos more. (Expensive → More expensive)
Adjetivo Comparativo Ejemplo
TallTallerHe is taller than me.
BigBiggerThis car is bigger than that one.
ModernMore modernThis phone is more modern.

2. Superlativos (Superlatives)

Estructura: The + adjetivo.

Regla General:
• Adjetivos cortos: Añadimos -est. (The fastest)
• Adjetivos largos: Añadimos the most. (The most expensive)

3. Casos Irregulares (¡Importante!)

Estos adjetivos cambian completamente y deben memorizarse:

Adjetivo Comparativo Superlativo
GoodBetterThe best
BadWorseThe worst
FarFarther / FurtherThe farthest

4. Ejercicios de Práctica

A) Completa con la forma comparativa:

1 My house is _________ (small) than yours.
2 This book is _________ (interesting) than the movie.

B) Completa con la forma superlativa:

3 Mount Everest is _________ (high) mountain in the world.
4 That was _________ (bad) day of my life.

C) Traduce:

Sujeto 1 + Verbo + Adjetivo Comparativo + than + Sujeto 2

  • Sujeto 1: La primera cosa que estamos comparando.
  • Verbo: Generalmente el verbo "to be" (is, are, was, were), pero puede ser otro verbo dependiendo del contexto.

Ejemplo:

  • Inglés: My car is faster than your car.

Ejemplo:

  • Inglés: She speaks English more fluently than I do.

Puntos Importantes a Recordar:
