Preguntas Básicas (What, Where, When, Why, How)

Hacer preguntas es fundamental para la comunicación. En inglés, existen diferentes tipos de preguntas, pero las más comunes son las preguntas de "sí/no" (cerradas) y las preguntas con "Wh-" (abiertas, que buscan información específica).

1. Estructura de las Preguntas en Inglés

a. Preguntas Cerradas (Yes/No Questions):

Estas preguntas se responden con un "sí" o un "no". La estructura generalmente es:
Verbo Auxiliar (Do/Does/Did/Am/Is/Are) + Sujeto + Verbo Principal?

Do you like coffee? (¿Te gusta el café?)

Is she working today? (¿Ella está trabajando hoy?)

Did they go to the party? (¿Ellos fueron a la fiesta?)

b. Preguntas Abiertas (Wh- Questions):

Estas preguntas buscan información específica y no se responden con un simple "sí" o "no". La estructura es:
Wh-word + Verbo Auxiliar + Sujeto + Verbo Principal?

Where do you live? (¿Dónde vives?)

What is she doing? (¿Qué está haciendo ella?)

When did they arrive? (¿Cuándo llegaron ellos?)

Cuando la "Wh-word" es el sujeto de la oración (ej: "Who called?"), no se usa verbo auxiliar.

2. Las "Wh- Words" más Comunes

Wh- Word	Uso	Ejemplo
What	Preguntar por cosas, información general.	What is your name? (¿Cuál es tu nombre?)
Where	Preguntar por lugares.	Where are you going? (¿Adónde vas?)
When	Preguntar por el tiempo.	When is your birthday? (¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?)
Why	Preguntar por la razón o causa. (Se responde con "Because...")	Why are you sad? (¿Por qué estás triste?)
How	Preguntar por la manera o estado.	How are you? (¿Cómo estás?) How old are you? (¿Cuántos años tienes?)
Who	Preguntar por una persona (sujeto).	Who is your favorite singer? (¿Quién es tu cantante favorito?)
Whose	Preguntar por pertenencia.	Whose book is this? (¿De quién es este libro?)
Which	Preguntar para elegir entre opciones.	Which color do you prefer, red or blue? (¿Qué color prefieres, rojo o azul?)

1. Someone is playing the guitar.
   Pregunta: ____ the guitar?
2. You want to know if a friend likes pizza.
   Pregunta: ____ pizza?
3. You see a new student and want to know if they are from Canada.
   Pregunta: ____ from Canada?
4. You want to know if your friend went to the cinema yesterday.
   Pregunta: ____ to the cinema yesterday?
5. You want to know if you can sit here.
   Pregunta: ____ here?
