En esta lección, vamos a explorar las dos formas principales de hablar sobre el futuro en inglés: usando "will" y "going to". Aunque a veces se pueden usar indistintamente, tienen usos ligeramente diferentes.

Futuro con "will"

Usamos "will" para expresar decisiones espontáneas, predicciones basadas en nuestra opinión, promesas, ofrecimientos y hechos futuros.

Estructura: Will + Verbo en forma base

• Decisiones espontáneas: It's cold. I will close the window. 🥶 - Hace frío. Cerraré la ventana.
• Predicciones (opinión): I think it will rain tomorrow. 🌧️ - Creo que lloverá mañana.
• Promesas: I will help you with your homework. 🤝 - Te ayudaré con tu tarea.
• Ofrecimientos: I will carry your bags. 💼 - Llevaré tus maletas.
• Hechos futuros: The sun will rise at 6 AM. ☀️ - El sol saldrá a las 6 AM.

Formas contraídas:

I'll, you'll, he'll, she'll, it'll, we'll, they'll

Forma negativa:

won't (will not)

Futuro con "going to"

Usamos "going to" para hablar de planes e intenciones que ya hemos decidido antes de hablar, y para predicciones basadas en evidencia presente.

Estructura: Am/Is/Are + going to + Verbo en forma base

• Planes e intenciones: I am going to travel to Medellín next month. ✈️🇨🇴 - Voy a viajar a Medellín el próximo mes.
• Predicciones (evidencia): Look at those dark clouds. It is going to rain. ☁️🌧️ - Mira esas nubes oscuras. Va a llover.

Formas contraídas:

I'm going to, you're going to, he's going to, she's going to, it's going to, we're going to, they're going to

Forma negativa:

not going to

Diferencias Clave

"Will"	"Going to"
Decisiones espontáneas.	Planes e intenciones previas.
Predicciones basadas en opinión.	Predicciones basadas en evidencia presente.
Promesas y ofrecimientos.	Algo que es muy probable que suceda.
Ejemplo: I think I will order pizza.	Ejemplo: I am going to visit my family this weekend.
Ejemplo: I will help you.	Ejemplo: Look! He is going to fall.
